Compassion
True Compassion breaks all boundaries of individual separateness. It is the bridge between all humans that simply recognizes the truth of the One consciousness experiencing its Self through many forms. The reality of the union of the heart and the mind working together in harmony, the union of wisdom and love that has the power to heal all suffering created on this earth.
All good that is awakened in the individual through Ascending on Praise, Gratitude and Love is given to all of humanity through the Attitude of Compassion. It is a simple and pure desire to elevate the consciousness of humanity to experience the Ascendant as the Self that lives through all.
One who knows how to Ascend can move beyond theory instantly. Life offers us opportunities every day to practice and apply Ascension. Endless opportunities to make choices and to align with expanding awareness of Truth. Every person that comes your way is asking to connect with you, even the ones that appear opposite to that. And really, since there is only one consciousness, who is it that you meet in the others? And what is your attitude towards them? It is the same attitude you have toward your own self.
What matters is that in the mundane day-to-day life we learn to apply Ascension. We learn to open ourselves in acceptance instead of judging and building the fortress walls of our own individual existence of separateness. We simply fill our minds with the Ascension Attitudes, and what follows is a higher cognition of reality, a deeper appreciation and experience of how intimately we all are connected and just how much of the same we are when we move through the surface appearances.
As individuals we all experience life according to our state of consciousness. Hence the Compassion of Christ is not easily cognized by the waking state mind. The beauty of Ascension Attitudes, however, is that regardless of how highly evolved or ignorant one is, the Ascension Attitude always connects us to the Ascendant. And in the Ascendant we touch the highest and purest state of consciousness. With the simple choice to Ascend we manifest in our own lives what Christ so powerfully showed us 2000 years ago. And his promise was that we would do even greater things than he did.

Pada III Sutra 24
Compassion does not mean "suffering with", as has often been felt in the world. True compassion raises the consciousness of those who are less evolved. Thus compassion is that emotion which connects humanity vertically together, for there will always be those who are less conscious and those who are more conscious than oneself. Therefore compassion for the lesser evolved and compassion from the more evolved ties the entire human race together in one endless tapestry of forgiveness, atonement and progress.
Friendliness radiates horizontally outward to equals; compassion radiates downward and outward to those less evolved; joyfulness radiates upward. The natural movement of joy upward connects the individual to the higher powers of nature and the more evolved humans throughout creation. This naturally leads to their blessings upon us.
These are the natural directions of these three emotions, but indifference has no natural direction, nor is it ever practiced through Samyamah, as it relates only to the world of illusions, to that which is not real. As the individual becomes more firmly established in the Self, it becomes increasingly evident that compassion is the only appropriate emotion for those who are caught by the boundaries of ignorance.
When these three are mastered, there is no longer room for weakness of any kind. Nor is there any longer room for any untoward results of returning action, for all creation is united with one in love, compassion and joy. What, then, could harm one? There is nothing left, anywhere, at any time. These three are thus the doorway to freedom, immortality, and all success in life.

The World Is As You Are
Everyone on the planet is a piece of the Ascendant. Everyone reflects the infinite light. This necessarily means that everyone is equally worthy of our love. Other's actions, so horribly condemned by us when we believed that we can be hurt or victimized, begin to be seen as either expressions of love filtered through their individual nervous systems, or else as cries for our help. "Please demonstrate to me that you love me! Please show me that you will continue to care for me even if I fail chemistry or marry George or get fired! Please show me that you will still love me even if I hurt you."
The depth of the feeling of loneliness, of isolation, of fear combined with the extent of the feeling of victimization will determine the depth of the "negative" action employed by a soul seeking proof of love in a harsh universe. In every case, it is a request for assistance. "I'm drowning here on earth! Can't anyone help me? You say you love! You dare to say you love me! Prove it to me! I'll be bad, so very, very bad, because no one really truly loves me. You must prove it to me!"
This all means that there are only two kinds of actions on Earth, Only two kinds of thoughts, only two kinds of feelings -- those which are based in love and those which are based in fear -- fear of being alone, lost, unloved. Thus any "negative" actions or feelings or words only deserve our compassionate understanding, never our punishment or judgement. They are cries for help, for love. " 'judgement is Mine,' says the Lord," is a statement of fact. Human beings have no business judging others. There is only one judgement, and that is that all are worthy of love and worthy of love and worthy of love. God only says one thing to the human, and that is, "Yes." It is our job here to attempt to master such a depth of unconditional love.

I first heard this poem when I was 17 years of age. I was absolutely galvanized by it. I was very motivated to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of Truth. Along the way many truths were discovered, many philosophies studied, many partial solutions to problems were found, many ways of attempting to become a better person and make a better world. . . . . The most compassionate thing that can be done by anyone in any moment is to recognize and touch the Greater Reality, the unbounded Infinite Ascendant, the most fundamental level of our Awareness.
There is no need to spend much energy on any other quest and in the grand scheme of things not much point either. Once I had my life flash before my eyes, it really does do that, it was very brief! At the end of it the only thing that mattered, the thing that really determined the overall quality of my life's experience, was the degree of my relationship to the Source, the degree that I was Conscious of the Ascendant.
The greatest gift of Love you can give is to live life from the Integrity and Innocence of your True Self. Why settle for the bronze when the Gold is right there waiting for you? Why settle for $5.00 when one billion is closer than the tip of your nose? It makes no sense. Ascension can be much more than a series of techniques to take a little stress from the life or add a little more consciousness; Ascension can be a pathway to Self Realization in a very short amount of time.
I highly recommend participating in an Intensive and if you are so inclined, attending the Teacher Training course in Oregon. This is an invitation to follow the impulse to Awaken! And leave some footprints in the sands of time.

The Vision of Christ
Every child of God is one in Christ, for his being is in Christ as Christ's is in God. Christ's love for you is His love for His Father, which he knows because He knows His Father's Love for Him. When the Holy Spirit has at last led you to Christ at the altar to His Father, perception fuses into knowledge because perception has become so holy that its transfer to holiness is merely its natural extension. Love transfers to love without interference, for the two are one. As you perceive more and more common elements in all situations, the transfer of training under the Holy Spirit's guidance increases and becomes generalized. Gradually you learn to apply it to everyone and everything, for its applicability is universal. When this has been accomplished, perception and knowledge have become so similar that they share the unification of the laws of God.
What is one cannot be perceived as separate, and the denial of the separation is the reinstatement of knowledge. At the altar of God, the holy perception of God's Son becomes so enlightened that light streams into it, and the spirit of God's Son shines in the Mind of the Father and becomes one with it. Very gently does God shine upon Himself, loving the extension of Himself that is His Son. The world has no purpose as it blends into the purpose of God. For the real world has slipped quietly into Heaven, where everything eternal in it has always been. There the Redeemer and the redeemed join in perfect love of God and of each other. Heaven is your home, and being in God it must also be in you.

The Essence and the Soul of True Compassion
"With the first two Attitudes, we are learning to Ascend, or rise beyond, our old way of thinking, and discover the Ascendant hiding inside. This causes the energy to rise upwards. The third Ascension Attitude opens us to the energy descending down, as it were, from the Ascendant itself. We don't want either of these movements to get bottled up! The first cognition technique is designed to allow the energy to continue on through us, to connect us with the rest of humanity. This is the essence of true compassion"
"May I say this?" asked Sharon. "To put it in my own words? The First Ascension Attitude heals our subjective stress, it re-aligns our life with Universality and establishes for all time the best activity for the human in relationship with the Ascendant. This is an upward Spiral. The Second Ascension Attitude extends this to everything in the world. All of Creation Ascends into the Divine Presence with Gratitude. The third Attitude gently reminds us the Ascendant also has a personal interest in each of us --without each and everyone of us, the Ascendant is as if incomplete. Then with Cognition, we give our energy back to the world. We give away our Praise, we give away our Gratitude, we give away our love -- back to those who need it. Correct?"
"Exactly correct," agreed Nanda warmly. "This technique allows us to pass the Ascending energy through us into the rest of Creation. It doesn't get stuck anywhere; it doesn't get blocked or locked up anywhere. And the more we give it away, the more we have of it. Love is magical. It increases as it is given away. That is the soul of compassion."

"And tell all the others of the Earth, all the good and sincere people of all nations, Ascension is real, Praise and Gratitude and Love and Compassion are the four feet of the First Thunder, the four syllables of the first Word of God. Ask them to experience Ascension for themselves, then learn to share the knowledge of these four with everyone they know, with everyone who is ready for them. A new sun will dawn for those who flow with these four in each and every moment; these are the master keys to unlock all the mysteries of Creation. To those who can board the swiftly-moving ship of Ascension, they will be carried into the full glory of Heaven. We will rejoice together again under the new Sun of love and manifest splendor.
